Oktoberfest - October 9, 2009 from 6pm - 10pm

It is time for another 2nd Friday in Downtown Mesa. And this event will be Downtown Mesa's first ever Oktoberfest! There was a great turn out last 2nd Friday in September and this should be even better. There will be beer gardens (which is a very first for Mesa), live music, games, prizes, raffles, arts and crafts vendors, shopping and dining. I will be set up outside of M-Troniks at 41 W. Main with my EVA arts group selling my handmade jewelry. If anyone wants an idea of the services Naylor Entertainment has to offer, I will be available to speak to and will have brochures available. Even better, yet ...  if you are interested in actually seeing the quality of music Naylor Entertainment can offer, Jeff will be outside of the Bank of America on the SE corner of MacDonald and Main with Automan Empire.

Automan Empire

Automan Empire, out of Tempe, Arizona, creates music rooted in improvisation, but carefully tendered to groove and aesthetic. They do compositions, improvisational techniques, as well as cover tunes coming from the modern musical dialogue. Although all the band members are university educated in Jazz, classical, and 20th century techniques, the sound they create is intentionally more energetic and funky. The aim of Automan Empire is to take the audience on a journey with the band into the sonic realm. Automan Empire performs regularly around the Phoenix Metro Area. Call Naylor Entertainment at 480-889-5644 to book Automan Empire for your event.

Second Friday in Downtown Mesa

Jeff Naylor has been the owner of M-Troniks  at 41 W Main Street in Mesa for three years now. After we got married last year, I started working at the shop with him. The building we own is becoming quite the music complex. We are starting a remodel on the front of the building which will house an extensive collection of vintage guitars. The back of the building is operated by a luthier. In addition to making custom pickguards, he builds custom guitars right there in the shop. Naylor Entertainment also has its office in the building.

Considering we are located in historic downtown Mesa, we do what we can to get involved with our downtown community. One very slow to catch on event that we are helping to promote is 2nd Fridays in downtown Mesa. Compared to past 2nd Friday events, many more of the merchants in downtown have agreed to participate in the upcoming 2nd Fridays. And the organizing committee has grown significantly so a lot of great ideas are coming out of this hardworking group. They are even making progress on beer gardens for Oktoberfest, which is pretty much unheard of at a Mesa event! This month's event, Motorcycles on Main, is September 11 from 6pm - 10pm. Many of the downtown merchants and restaurants remain open during this time. We will be open and have a band playing at 41 W Main. Several of the other shops and restaurants downtown will also have entertainment. Free activities include photos for kids on a motorcycle and competitions for prizes. If you have a motorcycle, ride it and show it. If you're shopping for a bike come down and talk to the owners. 2nd Fridays are a great event for everyone! We hope to see you there!

The Heart and Soul of Naylor Entertainment

Naylor Entertainment is a one-stop agency that specializes in assisting event coordinators in locating and hiring the perfect band or soloist to compliment their events. We have many genres of music available in our database. Naylor Entertainment does business a little differently than many other agents. We are dedicated, first and foremost, to being fair and honest business people. We also provide a professional service with quality customer service. Something that sadly, seems lost in today's world. But the main difference with us is that we aren't in this business to get paid for exploiting the talents of the valley's finest musicians. Co-Owner, Jeff Naylor, is a professional bass player that continues to play with many of the best musicians in the Phoenix area, which makes us sympathetic to the dedication and work involved with being a professional musician. And I worked several years in Catering and Conference Service at a Scottsdale resort so have the basic understanding of event coordination. When starting this business Jeff and I decided that we wish to provide a quality product to the event coordinators for a reasonable rate, while making sure the musicians get paid reasonably for the hard work they put in. In many cases, that means we get paid less than the musicians. We feel this has beneficial results. We understand that our success will only continue if our clients are happy and our talent is happy. For more information on Naylor Entertainment see our website: www.NaylorEntertainment.com.
