Automan Empire, out of Tempe, Arizona, creates music rooted in improvisation, but carefully tendered to groove and aesthetic. They do compositions, improvisational techniques, as well as cover tunes coming from the modern musical dialogue. Although all the band members are university educated in Jazz, classical, and 20th century techniques, the sound they create is intentionally more energetic and funky.
